The Goddard School Families Care!

Each year The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development in Bushnell's Basin partners with a local charity to give back to our community. This year the School and their families are partnering with the Perinton Food Shelf to help supply their shelves for the winter months. The Goddard staff and families are contributing dry goods, canned food, and frequently used personal care items. At the rate contributions are proceeding, they will likely deliver 50 grocery bags of goods to the Food Shelf on December 22nd!

Fairport Industrial Development Agency has been awarded a $50,000 Grant for the 2024 Thomas Creek Wetlands Entrance project!

The Fairport Industrial Development Agency announced that it has been awarded $50,000 in funding via the New York State Canal Corporation's Canalway Grant Program for the 2024 Thomas Creek Wetlands Entrance improvement project.

The Thomas Creek Wetlands, located at the eastern end of Liftbridge Lane East in the Village of Fairport, is a unique urban wetlands which provides ecological benefits as well as a passive recreational space along the Erie Canal and the NYS Empire Trail. Over the last several years the Fairport IDA has invested significant funds to upgrade and rehabilitate the boardwalk and overlook, created a butterfly garden, and added public art, including a sundial fashioned from stones reclaimed from an abandoned canal lock. This 2024 project proposes to make improvements to the entrance which will result in a more accessible, functional, user-friendly, and aesthetically appealing experience for residents and visitors.
