The Perinton Volunteer Ambulance Corps hosted an event for the Fairport-Perinton Chamber. Ambulance President Jon LeRoy shared the organization's history and what tax dollars are doing for community residents.
The Perinton Volunteer Ambulance Corps was founded 50 years ago on April 30, 1965. It began as a project for the Lions Club, but became a part-time, volunteer based service on September 1 of that year. They provided basic life-support service for the residents of the Village of Fairport and the Town of Perinton. In the beginning, the service was only available evenings and weekends, but they expanded into a full 24/7 service by the late 1970s. They maintained 100% all-volunteer crew coverage for 20 years.
The Tool Thrift Shop marks five years in business with an Anniversary Celebration on January 22 at 10 AM. The all-volunteer run Tool Thrift Shop raised $250,000 to benefit Senior Options for Independence (SOFI) which provides senior support services in the Perinton community. SOFI is a partnership with Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council and Fairport Baptist Homes.
The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Rita Prince - State Farm Insurance has been named its December Business of the Month. Located at 137 North Main Street, Fairport, the agency offers a complete range of insurance products including auto, motorcycle, home, property, life and health insurances, in addition to banking products, annuities and mutual fund.
The Chamber's annual holiday party at Woodcliff Hotel & Spa was a success! Attendees enjoyed cocktails at the annual Fairport-Perinton Chamber Holiday party at the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa. The event resulted in several new members joining the Chamber. Christine and John Forken from Independent Group, also known as IGC Plans attended. Members like Darren Miller of CUSTOM 100 and Mark Figura from lnfogistics IT, as well as John Pecora from Keller Williams and Donna Favitta from Ashby Consulting got the chance to catch up.
The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that RAC for Women - Perinton has been named its November Business of the Month. Located at 6687 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, RAC for Women - Perinton is an all-women's fitness club. Members enjoy a cardio-vascular room with over 60 pieces of equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and more, which help strengthen the heart while burning fat calories.
Fairport Perinton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Brookdale Fairport as the October 2015 Business of the Month. The 2015 Business Expo was a success! Thank you to Casa Lara for hosting! The annual event is a time to visually share local businesses in Fairport, Perinton, Bushnell's Basin, and Egypt. Nancy Loughran of FACET, Darren Miller of CUSTOM 100, Lori Kohl of Ultimate Beauty Laser Spa, and Diane McClure of Edge Advertising Group used the event to network with other companies on display.

The Chamber received some more media exposure in May! The Fairport-East Rochester Post wrote an article about Lyons National Bank's ground breaking event. LNB is in the middle of constructing a new branch location located on 31F near Jefferson Rd. Several Chamber directors participated in this event in support of James Bilotta, future branch manager.
