The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce recently honored Casa Larga as the March Business of the Month.
Founders Andy and Ann Colaruotolo shared a vision for producing wine that could be shared with friends and family. The winery started as a hobby and then turned into a business. The first vines were planted in 1974. It takes four years for vines to produce fruit; the first vintage was not released until 1978.
Just as time marched on from hobby to business, so did the ownership. With the passing of its founders, the Colaruotolo children, Andrea C. O’Neil, Mary Jo Telesca and John Colaruotolo, run the business today.
“We like to create experiences,” O’Neill said.
At their venue, many different events hosted are weddings, business meetings and family celebrations. Many family tables also share their wine. The venue is currently being remodeled to include a new tasting room, an update to the events facility, and there are plans for a cafe to be added in 2018.
The chamber enjoys having Casa Larga attend its many events.
