Business of the Month

July, 2016

Business growth lofted Patti Keyes’ business into the Village of Fairport.  Now the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce is recognizing Embroidery Loft as the July Business of the Month.

Looking back 27 years, Embroidery Loft grew with the Keyes family and consumer demand.  Patti originally started her business in a loft area in her home, which served her and the business well over the next 10 years, as she raised her family.  The next stop was a retail store in Penfield, until growth sent her looking for a larger location, which she found in the Village of Fairport at 3 Railroad Street.

“My days are always different, reported Patti.  That keeps my interest.  I love experiencing the creative ideas customers bring in.  Plus, I have an opportunity to listen to customers and educate them about their options to communicate through the medium of embroidery.”

As a small local business, Embroidery Loft services customers with needs as small as one piece.  Their capabilities service commercial requests as well.  Patti’s target market is providing embroidered sportswear to small and mid-sized businesses.

Community involvement is important to Patti.  She has chosen membership in the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce, the Merchants Association, and the Better Business Bureau.

Chamber President Paul West shared the criteria for Business of the Month:  “Chamber member for six months, in good standing; evidence of community participation in time, talent or financial gifts; known for character traits of honesty and integrity practiced through their business.  Candidates meeting these qualifications are reviewed by the Chamber’s Member Committee, who introduces a slate of approved candidates to the Chamber Board for final approval.”
